Create Your Own Terrarium (Grades 3-6)
Saturday, February 28
10 am - 12 pm
$45 per student
Limited to 12 students.
Create your own living terrariums! Your terrarium will be a closed system inside a glass mason jar! They will be modeled after our native forest floors and will be cool living decorations that will remind you of nature and change over time! Your terrarium shouldn't need any watering or maintenance once it is created either - everything that it needs will be contained in the jar and recycled.

Animal Tracks Treasure Hunt (Grades K-2)
Saturday, March 7
10 am - 12 pm
$45 per student
Limited to 12 students.
Get outside for a morning of treasure hunting! In this drop off program we will track down a treasure hidden among our trails. While doing so we will solve tricky riddles and learn about the tracks that different animals leave behind as they walk through Connecticut forests.

Nighttime Wonders - Amphibians After Dark (Grades 3-6)
Friday, March 20
6 - 8 pm
$45 per student
Limited to 12 students.
Experience Woodcock Nature Center after dark!! Educators will lead students on a night hike where we will look for and learn about amphibians. We'll listen and look for frogs by our vernal pools and search for salamanders underneath logs and on the forest floor. To end the evening, we will gather around a campfire and make s’mores before heading home!

Fantastic Frogs (Grades K-2)

Calling all frog lovers! Come meet and learn about some of Woodcock's resident frogs, make an adorable frog craft, and head out to our vernal pools to search for frogs.

Incredible Insects (Grades K-2)
Saturday, May 2
2 - 4 pm
$45 per student
Limited to 12 students.
Do you have a child who loves finding rolly pollies and caterpillars? In this program, we will learn about the many insects you could find in your own backyard. We will scoop in the swamp to see what critters we can find, meet WNC's resident insects, and make a cool bug craft.

Moth Madness (Grades 3-6)
Saturday, May 22
8 - 10 pm
$45 per student
Limited to 12 students.
Let's uncover the wonderful world of moths! While these primarily nocturnal insects are seldom seen, we will embark on a night hike to visit light traps and baited trees to see what we can find. This should attract different moth species so we can learn and identify together what we see. With over a 1,000 species of moth that live in New England and we are always excited to discover more of them!
