100 Sophomores. One Big Impact.

What happens when 100 high school sophomores show up at Woodcock ready to work? Well, quite a lot gets accomplished! Over the last decade, the Brunswick School and the nature center have benefitted from a remarkable partnership. Each fall, the students arrive with a group of advisors and, in a few hours, transform the main grounds and tackle multiple outdoor projects. This year, students filled driveway potholes, spread woodchips, planted trees, removed invasive burning bush, and even demolished an old animal enclosure.

Derek Hruska, sophomore class dean, spearheads the trip and emphasizes to the boys that it is all about giving back, whether in their community or elsewhere.

Their efforts show the impact that many hands working together can have on the community and our environment. Thank you, Brunswick School!
