Frequently Asked Questions
*Please read all of the following closely if you are a ticket holder or are considering purchasing tickets. Due to the amount of planning and effort that goes into this event, all tickets must be purchased in advance and are non-refundable or exchangeable.*
I purchased a ticket for the in-person event. How will my ticket work now that materials are being selected on-site but decorating is taking place at home?
We continue to make many changes to address health and safety guidelines per local, State and CDC recommendations while also maintaining a festive atmosphere. As of November 20th, Wreath Festival has moved to a pass-thru “materials buffet” in our pond-side tent (we will no longer be decorating in-person). If you have already purchased tickets, you will receive an email shortly with your assigned 30-minute time slot to participate in the walk-thru "materials buffet". Rest assured that most time slots will be scheduled at approximately the same day and time as originally purchased and groups will be kept together. However, some adjustments will need to be made to help us meet health and safety standards. Please read on to find out more about the new process and get some tips on decorating at home.
Ticket holders will now also receive some special gifts with their materials including a code to redeem one complimentary Wreath Festival raffle ticket (see more about our event raffle here); a $10 gift card to spend at Tequila Escape restaurant in Ridgefield; a coupon to use at She La La Boutique, Nod Hill Brewery and Outdoor Sports Center plus more goodies to come! (Special gifts not included with To-Go Kits).
How will the walk-thru “materials buffet” work?
Participants will arrive during a scheduled time slot, park in our driveway and be directed to the pond-side tent where they will have 30 minutes to pass through our walk-through “materials buffet”, collect materials, choose a wreath and decorate at home. In an effort to limit shared materials, decorating elements will not be self-serve as in past years. Staff will be available at a “materials bar” and will distribute dried flowers, pine cones, bows, etc. at your request. We’ll have all your favorite bows and materials!
To allow for proper ventilation of our tent spaces, door flaps will be open on two sides of each space and it will be cold (think ski jackets and hats! Our heaters will only help so much.) Masks are required at all times when on the property and in all tented spaces.
How does the timing work?
Wreath Festival tickets correspond to a specific pick-up time and date. All tickets must be purchased in advance and are non-refundable or exchangeable. To help us manage crowd size and distancing, you must arrive/depart at your scheduled start/end time. There are 10 guests per 30 minute time slot. We will allow up to 5 guests in the tent at a time. We ask that you please make your selections in a timely manner so we can accommodate everyone within the time allotted. You may have to wait outside our materials tent if it reaches capacity during your time slot. Please dress appropriately and be prepared for the weather. We appreciate your patience in advance as we strictly adhere to distancing and capacity safety precautions.
Help! I don’t have a glue gun and I’m clueless about how to decorate my wreath!
Never fear! It is quite possible to decorate without a glue gun. We’ll have plenty of floral wire and picks available at the “buffet” which will help to attach most materials. Please also use our handy Tips for Decorating Your Wreath document. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide glue guns to participants.
We'll have many inspirational photos hanging on the wall in the pick-up room as well. Take a look for some great ideas or ask our staff for advice before you leave! Remember to post photos of your creations on social media #WreathsofWoodcock.
I’ve got my tickets. How should I dress?
Dress for the cold, be comfortable and remember your mask! In order to allow for proper ventilation in our spaces, door flaps will be open on two sides of each space and it will be cold. The pick-up space is equipped with two heaters but weather and open flaps will impact their effectiveness. We also recommend you wear appropriate footwear for walking our dirt driveway and wood chipped (and potentially muddy paths!). You will be fully outdoors at times, walking between your car and our tents. You may have to wait outside our materials tent if it reaches capacity during your time slot.
I plan to stay home this year. How do the To-Go kits work?
As an alternative to a more traditional in-person Wreath Festival experience, we are pleased to offer a take-home, do-it-yourself design kit. We’ll provide a 24” Balsam wreath to-go as well as a festive selection of decorating materials. You will choose from three pre-packaged holiday design themes that can be picked up on a predetermined date/time. Kits must be ordered in advance. More info here (sorry, kits are currently sold-out).
If I change my mind about my ticket purchase, can I get a refund?
We strongly encourage you to review the event description closely and coordinate your tickets with friends in advance. Because of the amount of planning and effort that goes into this event, all tickets must be purchased in advance and are non-refundable or exchangeable. You must arrive at your scheduled start time and leave at your scheduled end time.
I can no longer make it. Can I switch my ticket to a different date/time or give my ticket to a friend?
Because of the amount of planning that goes into this event, tickets are not refundable nor can they be exchanged to an alternate date/time or the value applied to other programs. You may transfer your tickets to a friend however, please email us the name of the new attendee as we must keep an accurate record of attendees for health and safety reasons.
What about winter weather or pandemic-related cancellations?
If a winter storm prohibits us from running an event, we will send an email to attendees as well as put a message on our website, social media, and outgoing voicemail. If possible, we will reschedule canceled events for one of our weather contingency days, December 13-16. If changes are made to current health and safety guidelines that make an in-person event impossible, we will reach out to ticket holders with several options including alternative ways to celebrate such as our Wreath Festival To-Go kits.
Will upgrades to a larger wreath size be available this year?
We are not able to accommodate wreath upgrades this year. All wreaths will be 24” balsam.
It’s time for Wreath Festival! Where should I park?
Park along the sides of our driveway. We have a long and narrow dirt driveway. Depending on what time you arrive, you may have to park a short distance away and walk-up. Though our driveway is lighted in some areas, we suggest evening attendees bring a flashlight to ensure your safe passage. You can help make parking an easy experience for everyone in the following ways…do not park head in; parallel park only and pull as far over as possible; close the gap between the car in front of/behind you whenever possible; always leave room for traffic to flow; do not attempt to turn around in the middle of the driveway. There is a turnaround at the top of the driveway. If necessary, proceed to the top and follow the turnaround. If you are getting out of your vehicle on the wooded side, watch your step. Some areas have a slight drop off.
I have successfully parked. Where do I go to check-in?
Guest check-in will be located near our hillside wreath tent located alongside the driveway. Woodcock staff will be there to greet you upon arrival and provide directions from there.
What should I bring?
Remember your mask and warm clothes! We also ask that you please bring your own reusable shopping bag or a basket to take your materials home. But don’t worry if you forget yours, we will have brown shopping bags available too.
Will the restroom be accessible?
Yes, the restrooms in our Nature Center will be available for use during the event.
Please do not attend Wreath Festival if…
