Woodcock Nature Center the iNaturalist website to learn about and document all the life that is on our trails, and you can help out! It’s easy and free to join and it helps us all learn about the biodiversity in our area.
To make an account, go to inaturalist.org and click “sign up” on the top right of the page. You can either create one using your email, or sign in with a social media account on the left side of the page. Once you’ve created an account and are logged in, you can join Woodcock Nature Center’s project by clicking “Projects” on the top middle of the page. Type in the search projects bar, “Woodcock Nature Center Wildlife”. From there you will see a project that pops up with our green woodcock logo on it. That’s us! Click on that. Then on the top right of the page below the top bar you will see in small blue letters “join this project”. Click that! Then on the bottom left of the page you’ll see in a blue box, “Join this project” Click that and you’re in!
Once you’ve found something on our trails you would like to document, make sure you get a good photo of it. It doesn’t have to be professional, just make sure you can make out what it is. Before you click save, you’ll see a tab on the right of the page that says “add to project”. Make sure you click that and add it to the “Woodcock Nature Center Wildlife” project. Then we can all share and see what is living in our environment!
